Here's my personal list that fits into an international carry-on and personal item;
Clothing
- Tops (5):
- 2 casual shirts
- 2 lightweight blouses
- 1 dressy top for evenings
- Bottoms (3):
- 1 pair of dressy pants or skirt
- 1 pair of capris or shorts
- 1 pair of lightweight travel pants or leggings
- Dresses:
- 1 sundress
- 1 little black dress
- Outerwear:
- 1 lightweight jacket or sweater
- Undergarments:
- 7 pairs of underwear
- 2 bras (1 everyday, 1 sports bra)
- 3 pairs of socks
- Sleepwear:
- 1 of sleepwear
- Swimwear:
- 1 - 2 swimsuit
Footwear
- Comfortable walking shoes (sneakers or flats)
- Sandals (casual or dressy)
- Flip-flops and/ or travel slippers
Accessories
- 3 lightweight colorful scarves - these take up very little space, add color, and extend your wardrobe looks (visiting religious sites)
- Lightweight crossbody bag or daypack
- Sunglasses and readers (optional)
- Hat (optional for sun protection)
- Jewelry, 3 earring sets, 1 necklace
Toiletries (Travel-Size Only)
- Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss
- Shampoo, conditioner, body wash or small soap
- Face wash and moisturizer
- Sunscreen
- Minimal makeup:
- Tinted moisturizer, mascara, lip balm
- Deodorant
- Hairbrush/comb, hair ties, styling tool
- Razor (if needed)
Electronics
- Smartphone and charger
- Travel adapter (optional)
- Lightweight power bank
- E-reader, tablet, laptop (optional)
- Headphones or earbuds (optional)
Documents
- Passport and photocopy
- Travel insurance details or app
- Tickets and reservations (digital or printed)

- Do Laundry: Plan for mid-trip washes to cut down on clothing needs. Or bring a small spray bottle of fabric freshener or make a vodka spray.
- Pack a couple dryer sheets to keep your suitcase smelling fresh
